Change and Challenges

Exciting times for us here at HoneyBee Bungalow. We have moved to a new studio in a new state with warm hearted people.

I have been busy as a honeybee, designing, cutting, sewing and quilting and having so much fun!

In fact our little cottage business has moved up a notch and I am now selling on Amazon Handmade.

After a life long pursuit of excellence in handmade needle crafts I still find myself inspired with new and different challenges. I feel blessed to come from a long line of needlework artisans, they have left me cherished and important articles created during their lifetimes and I marvel at their skill. I hope I can continue to do justice to what I have learned and pass this on to my posterity.

I wanted to be just like my Mom who is an exceptional seamstress as well as my Grandmother and Great-Grandmothers and Aunts. All wonderful artisans dedicated to perfection in their work and who created precise intricate stitches and designs. I am grateful for the patience of parents and grandparents and their belief in me as I have honed my skills. I began my lifelong career in the needle arts beginning at age 5 with Christmas aprons and pot holders. I spent my entire youth sewing everything from stuffed frogs to wedding dresses for my friends. I have been known to create an outfit for a date in one day; visit the fabric store, purchase cloth and sew it up for a date that night.

Yep, I love it. Nowadays I focus on quilts, to me they are the epitome of love and hugs and the next best thing to being wrapped up in granny's apron while receiving a big hug. What better way to show respect and care to someone else then giving them a item to enjoy and cherish daily - that is what a beautiful and beautifully handmade quilt does. There is such a difference between quality materials artisans use for handmade works and what is store bought.

I am very grateful to those who have supported my work in art and design throughout my life and hope to reach others who will find joy and pleasure in my creations. As I navigate this new marketing avenue, please be patient. If you are looking for someone to turn your ideas into reality for a quilt, or if you find something here, but would like a different color I would love to work with you. Please email me at HoneyBeeCottage@gmail.com.

I am looking toward the future of endless possibilities. Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by.
